Travelling through the West MacDonnell Ranges we make our way to the Historic Precinct of Hermannsburg known to the Arrarnta people as ‘Ntaria’. Hermannsburg was the birthplace of celebrated Aboriginal artist Albert Namatjira in 1902 and is renowned for its indigenous art collection. Explore the historic buildings and the Art Gallery.

Stop At: Finke Gorge National Park, Larapinta Drive, Alice Springs, Northern Territory 0872 Australia

You will journey along the ancient Finke River bed by custom-built 4WD.

    'Bluey' was our guide. Great driver & so much local knowledge, having lived in Alice 47 yrs & tour guiding 35yrs. Bluey passed on much interesting history about the West McDonnell Ranges, also the vegetation, important explorers and figures that have made a huge positive impact on Alice Springs and surrounds. Our 4x4 trip was an adventure; the 4x4 seating was comfortable. Bluey had us laughing and smiling throughout the day. The all day 4x4 tour was fabulous and absolutely beautiful scenery - ever changing high orange/red rock formations, palm trees and ancient cycads. Thank you Bluey for an incredible day! Gayle & Hank

    The highly knowledgeable tour guide and experience driver Bluey was brilliant. He made the trip even more fun with his local stories and also his historical knowledge. I felt very safe and very well looked after. The tour was brilliant and will be recommending to friends and family

    We chose this tour because we'd heard the road into Palm Valley was rough, and we were very happy with our choice. Bluey was knowledgeable and engaging, and the 4WD truck was comfortable and perfect for the task. We loved the scenery and the walk and enjoyed Hermannsburg. All up a great day out.

    The 4WD was great fun our driver Reese was an expert at driving through very challenging terrain. My highlight was walking up to the ridge at Palm Valley it was a peaceful magical place up on the ridge. One thing though I would have happily paid more to have been able to spend longer at Hermannsburg precinct. I love history and felt I had to race around quickly reading . There wasn’t time to browse in the shop which was a pity because it’s lovely to have memories of a trip to somewhere I will never be back to.

    Bluey was the most amazing knowledgeable, humorous , engaging storyteller ... His 4WDing wasn’t too bad either! The Macdonnell Ranges adventure with my mate Bluey a couple of days before, left me in owe of the beauty and detail of the landscape, its history and it’s people Great bloke 👍🌼

    The landscape in Palm Valley was amazing- especially the flowers and various kinds plants on the shorter of the two walks.

    Our driver Bluey was full of stories ( 1 too many) & information about the area.. It was an amazing day. We were in a 4WD coach which Bluey dealt well with. Amazing location & so worth doing if you are in Alice Springs. We did 2 walks, which most people should be able to do. you could only go here if you had a 4WD. so this is a perfect tour for those who don't have a FWD

    We had a great experience. Bluey the driver has incredible knowledge of the history of the area. We had plenty of time to take in the sights. The 4wd bus and driver handled the terrain incredibly well.
